The blue is soft and faded. Made by John Tams of Longton, Staffordshire, c.1875–1900.

Asiatic Pheasants was first produced in the 1840s and remained in continuous production well into the 20th century, made by dozens of Staffordshire potteries. The John Tams version is a solid, well-printed example of the pattern: unpretentious, good quality, and immediately recognisable to anyone with an eye for Victorian transferware.

Beautiful stacked with other blue and white.

Condition: Crazing throughout the glaze, heavy and consistent with significant age.
