Antique Beaumontia Grandiflora Botanical Print
Antique Beaumontia Grandiflora Botanical Print
Antique botanical colour plate of Beaumontia grandiflora, a flowering climber. Large white trumpet flowers with flared, ruffled petals sit against a warm tan ground, with a single coral-tipped bud at left. The plate was issued in The Garden, the London illustrated weekly founded by William Robinson in 1871, and a printed date in the upper corner dates the piece to a specific year. The print is unframed and ready to mount or frame as it is.
Condition: Some have edge tears and light staining to the paper, see photos. This one also has a few white marks on it, presumably from being pressed against another piece of paper, and an uneven white border which could be cut off when framed.
Dimensions: Approximately 21 cm high x 27 cm wide
