Antique French Earthenware Mixing Bowl with Pouring Lip
A lovely French country earthenware bowl with a small pouring lip and a warm amber glaze across the interior. The exterior is left in unglazed terracotta, that characteristic brick-red clay that speaks to a long tradition of rural French pottery. Wheel-thrown and hand-finished, this is the kind of piece that spent its working life in a farmhouse kitchen, used for mixing batter, resting dough, or holding fruit. The glaze has developed fine crazing across its surface with age. A genuinely useful and beautiful thing.
Condition: Good overall condition with age-related wear. Fine crazing throughout the interior glaze. Notable chipping and glaze loss to the rim at the pouring lip area, with smaller losses visible around the rim in profile.
Dimensions: 305mm diameter including the spout, 115mm high.
