A beautifully glazed magnolia bowl by Aquila, part of their Black Forest Ware range. The form is modelled as a flower in full open bloom - rounded petals layered and overlapping.
The glaze is the real draw here: a deep, mottled teal that pools darker in the recesses and lifts to a richer teal on the raised surfaces. It has real depth and variation to it, the kind that makes it look different depending on the light.
A distinctly New Zealand piece, and a good one.
Condition: Excellent. No chips, cracks, or crazing visible.
