A pair of Victorian pressed glass candlesticks, each standing on a sculptural base formed by four bird figures with wings spread and feathers rendered in detail. The stems rise through a series of turned rings and ribbed panels, finishing at an ornate pressed-glass bobeche. Clear throughout and catching the light beautifully, this pair works equally well on a formal dining table or a windowsill. A good example of the figural pressed glass that was fashionable in Victorian interiors, and increasingly sought after today for the same reasons.
Condition: Both candlesticks are in great overall condition. No obvious chips or cracks are visible.
