A beautiful and practical cookbook from Nelson author Nicola Galloway, The Homemade Table is the kind of book that earns a permanent spot on the kitchen bench. The result of three years of recipe testing, research, writing, and photography, its 380 pages hold over 170 wholesome, seasonal recipes designed for real, everyday home cooking.
The book unfolds in two parts. The first celebrates fresh, seasonal produce across chapters on breakfasts, vegetables and soups, dinners, and baking and desserts - the sort of recipes you return to year after year (I can attest having owned her books!). The second half shifts into traditional kitchen skills and homemade staples: sourdough bread (including gluten-free), preserves, pickles, sauerkraut, ferments, and homemade dairy including yogurt, labneh, ricotta, and cultured butter.
Nicola draws on 20 years of teaching experience to make even the more involved techniques feel genuinely approachable.
