A pair of carved alabaster pedestal bowls with a warm, amber-toned translucency.
Originally the bases for decorative bird baths, these pieces have been reimagined as sculptural "tazzas" (shallow footed bowls). The rims feature a carved leaf or petal motif that catches the light beautifully.
Without the original birds, the focus shifts to the natural beauty of the stone and the classical silhouette. They make great vessels for holding jewellery on a dresser, displaying polished stones, or simply standing as architectural bookends on a shelf.
Condition: Vintage condition. The alabaster has a smooth, cool tactile quality. Please note: As these were originally designed with decorative birds, there are small drill holes on the rim where the figures were previously attached. This history is part of their repurposed charm.
