Antique Chinese Blue & White Porcelain Kamcheng Jar - Bok Choy & Bees

Deriving its name from the Hokkien term for 'covered jar,' a Kamcheng is a traditional Chinese vessel. It was a versatile container used variously for storing water, preserving pickles, and keeping other types of food.

This charming piece features a hand-painted design of Bok Choy (Chinese cabbage) surrounded by small bees. A distinctive brass band rings the upper rim of the pot - a detail often found on antique vessels to reinforce the rim. The lid is topped with a sculptural finial, and the shoulder of the pot features four small relief lug handles. The base is marked with Chinese characters.

Condition: Excellent antique condition.
