A beautiful Blue Willow butter or cheese dish by Bridgwood of England, with gilding that has stayed remarkably intact. The Willow pattern needs little introduction - pagoda, willow, bridge, birds - but this piece elevates the familiar design with a gilt rim on the base plate and lid, and a particularly lovely finial: a gilded bud in white and gold, rising above a hand-painted botanical motif on the lid top.
Condition: Great. Gilding intact and strong on rim, lid edge, finial, and painted lid motif.
Dimensions: 18cm long x 14cm wide (base plate) x 12cm high including finial.
