Morris & Co Brother Rabbit Sofa & Matching Ottoman
A wingback vintage high-back two seater sofa and matching ottoman, recently upholstered in genuine Morris & Co Brother Rabbit linen. The print carries the pattern's mirrored rabbits, small birds, acorns and stylised acanthus and flowering stems in madder red on a natural ground.
The set is complete as a pair, with a deep-skirted settee and a firm box ottoman on chrome dome feet. Brother Rabbit was designed by William Morris in 1880, one of his indigo-discharge printed textiles drawn from his interest in medieval pattern.
Condition: Very good. Three small stains each less than a five cent coin in size to the undersides of the cushions, see photos. The ottoman top is gently faded compared to the settee, it was hard to photograph this fading. Upon inspection I gauge this has been professionally reupholstered and had new foam added within the last one to three years.
Dimensions: Sofa 136 cm wide x 69 cm deep x 98 cm high. Ottoman 48 cm wide x 32 cm deep x 36 cm high.
